Entry Requirements

All learners must meet the national entry requirements for PTTLS:

• minimum age 18 at entry
• agree to join the IfL (if wishing to hold a Licence to Practice)
• hold a current CRB certificate if required to by their employer, or if they intend to work with learners who are covered by the CRB regulations. (Learners are responsible for gaining advice from their employer)
• be qualified in the area the will be teaching, normally a formal qualification to at least the level above the level they will be teaching. In some cases this may have been acquired through experiential learning; this will be discussed at the pre-course interview
• can demonstrate they can work at Level 2 in Literacy/English. This may be through a qualification or by providing recent evidence of work at this level.
• have an equivalence of Level 1 Functional Skills in Mathematics and ICT

Accreditation of Prior Learning and Achievement (APLA)
No APLA is available for the PTTLS course.
