Course Delivery


This qualification is designed to be delivered through blended learning. Your practical skills will be observed through a micro teaching session which could be observed  face to face by your tutor or by a suitably qualified colleague. This will be discussed with you by your tutor.


The teaching for this course delivered through blended learning, including options for a combination of face-to-face delivery, e-learning through our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and completing assessment tasks. This will be done with the guidance of your tutor. There are other mechanisms in place to support you with your studies:

 

  • Interactive activities delivered through the VLE
  • Research and activities done on the web.
  • Peer group support through forums and email on our VLE.


The blended learning programme will allow you to work at your own pace. There is no fixed time-scale of when you should complete the course. This is negotiated with your tutor at the beginning of the course and a relevant plan of assessment deadlines drawn up from there. The minimum time-scale to complete the award is 6 weeks and maximum 12 months.


The guided learning hours (directed by your tutor) for this course is 30 hours. You can expect to need between 20 and 30 further hours of private study, research and preparing assignments; this will vary, depending on your previous knowledge, experience and study skills.


This course will provide you with the support that you need to achieve but it is learner-led with you taking responsibility for your personal development and achievements of the objectives. Your tutor will set you deadlines to in negotiation; if you should require an extension for these you should request this from your tutor. Your tutor will support you by email and if you find that you are having difficulties with time-scales your tutor will negotiate these with you and will advise you about the requirements for assessment at Levels 3 and 4.
