Creative Sunday

Today has been a wonderful feast of creativity! It started with a great session playing accordian with my friends Janey (guitar) and Ann (Sax) at our church family service; we were amused by James (guitar) excuse for not joining us - too busy catching calves! Well, he and Lita are the village farmers and apparently the calves were too small and got thru the gaps in the fence or something…..I love living in the country! Then I became a woman of the soil and did a good bit of weeding and tending in the vegetable and flower beds; while I’ve been away the rocket has been rocketing, the nicotiana seedlings were ready to plant out, the roses are abundant and the courgettes are blooming already. It really pacifies my soul, getting creative with creation. This afternoon I was preparing for the Still Waters workshop next week - a happy muddle of tieying, dyeing and batiking with a bit of sand candle-making thrown in to use up some wax. I get so excited when I’m tie-dying and get to snip away all the string and find out how it’s turned out; I think my favurite is when you tie up little objects like marbles and make a radiating pattern like this: tie dye_1tie dye_1Next week I shall add a ‘how to’ about tie-dying as the first of a new series on our arts & craft pages - another idea from my e-course!
